3 Ways to Create an Ebook Cover for Your Own Product

One of the hurdles new marketers have when it comes to creating your own info product is to hire out a designer to do all the work when it comes to making your very own professional looking 3d ebook covers.

Fortunately, the internet is littered with tons of tools and software programs that help you make 3d covers online, and the best part about the process is you can control the look and feel of your designs, without paying a designer tons of money to do so.

What is a 3d Ebook Cover?

If you have ever bought a product online, especially if it's a digital product, you will have noticed that there is usually some type of product image that is shown, like a standing software box, pack of cd's, or dvd case for example.

Even if the product is delivered digitally, you will usually see a 3d product image shown to represent the product you are receiving.

For instance, let's say you buy a video course that contains some information on an affiliate program.

Now, the video program will most likely get delivered to you in a series of links, where you can watch the videos right online, but to justify the amount of value you are spending, we as consumers are hardwired to see what we are getting.

And taking a screenshot of the video screen is usually not good enough to justify what we are actually buying.

For information and digital products, what we are really paying for is the information, so by using 3d graphics to represent the digital products, it makes the product stand out a lot more to show what we are receiving.

For instance, let's look at this popular product, the Patriot Funnel System (a popular affiliate program that pays commissions of $1,250 to $10,000 for it's affiliate partners).

In this case, we see that the product display has a 3d Software box, a few standing upright CD's, 3 books, and a computer screen with the product showing on it.

This type of image is made with a program similar to MyEcoverCreator. You can literally take a 2 dimensional image and turn it into a product box, or set of products all showing.

So when the website visitor sees the product in this format, it gives the intrinsic value of what you are actually paying for.

For this program in particular, it covers over 20 hours of online resources and web based training, so by showing the 3d image of the software boxes, books, and CD's, it can represent the price point ($49 in this case).

Rather than just having text and explanations of the product, it shows that for the $49 investment, you are getting the equivalent data which would normally take up this much media space in books, CD's etc.

Remember the time?

Do you remember not too long ago (or maybe I'm dating myself here...) when you wanted to buy videos, you would actually get the on VHS tapes? Then products started coming on Compact Discs, along with physical printed books.

But nowadays, since information can be easily created and hosted on your website, marketers have to find more creative ways to show the actual products that people are buying, even though they do not even get delivered that way.

Here is another example of a highly popular Free Ebook that is given away.

Even though the book is delivered as a pdf file, the image shows that you are downloading some type of book.

Pretty cool huh?

So how do people make these 3d Books?

It's actually quite simple. As I mentioned above, there is a sneaky program online that is called My Ecover Creator, and it allows you to completely design these things (even if you suck at design like me).

You can whip up something like the ebook above in about 5-10 minutes. Of course if you do have an eye for design, it makes it much easier!

Other than that, there is your marketing hack for the day.

Talk soon,
Nate
